Windmills of the Gods

My review :

This story revolves around Mary Ashley, wife of Dr.Edward Ashley, an American professor in the Kansas University, who is chosen as the US Ambassador to Romania, one of the Iron curtain countries. She is forced to take up the position after the planned brutal murder of her husband and is challenged to adapt herself rapidly from the safety of a small town called Junction City in Kansas to the challenges of Romania, the culture shock, threats to her life and the social rules that an Ambassador has to adhere to.On the other hand, the narration of the character of a top professional assassin who operates his killings, without any flaw has been dealt with in a very thrilling and shocking touch. The suspense of who the assassin is has been sustained till the end. Finally the assassin gets a contract to kill the Ambassador in a spectacular fashion on a spectacular night. The scene, setting and revealing of whom the assassin is and the ones behind the plan are unexpected and thrilling. Another typical Sheldon novel. :)

Overall: Thriller/Action

The Sands Of Time

Happily spent my weekend reading "The Sands of time" by Sidney SheldonI love reading Sidney Sheldon's novels. And this one turned to be one among the best I have read. The story is set in Spain and centres around four nuns and their involvement with Basque nationalists and the Spanish Army. Begins with Colonel Acoca raiding a convent in search of the famous rebel leader Jaime Miro. Stories of four nun's who find themselves running for their life, each having a secret grape yard for their own with shocking past life. And ends up with success in their life, turning them to great and new personalities. It has action, adventure, and romance and of course the style of writing about the flashback was even more thrilling.

Overall : Fast paced/good
